why does my 1997 vr6 won't make as much noise as other vr6 engines?

my 1997 jetta vr6 is not loud like my 1999 and its a 5 speed manual does somebody know what can be the problem??

Maybe the problem is that there is no problem? The VR6 was designed to be a nice cruising engine, not some loud ass POS.
