Trane xl800 series thermostat red light on?

I have a train xl803 thermostat which has worked well the last 2 years and recently theres a red light on on the upper right handside of the thermostat the thermostat still works but i am wondering if anyone knows what that means i cant find anything

Remove the cover and see if there are battery's in it that might need changed.
