I want to make a crank charger (for cell phones) put out opposite polarity voltage when cranked the other way.
I use a crank charger to run my slot car track (hooked the wires directly from the generator inside to the power of the track--one per lane). It worked perfectly with the first one I bought but we burned out the generator somehow. That first one had reverse
Just guessing, but the earlier one was probably a DC motor/generator, the newer one AC. The diodes would rectify any AC current to DC, six diodes do suggest 3-phase.
Check for AC voltage output across any two wires before the diodes.
