1999 Audi A4 Quatro, ignition switch problem?

new car to me..I need info on this, I replaced it and it went again 1 day later, is this a recalled part...is this common? cost to replace ?

Which part of the switch is bad? The electrical part list for about $70.00 the key and tumbler $150.00 and the housing$100.00. The electrical part is fairly common but if you just replaced it a day ago it seems odd that it went out again. Good luck. If
