How do I change a headlight bulb on a 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass?

I am trying to help a friend of mine change his headlight bulb (just the bulb, not the whole assembly). He has a 1997 Olds Cutlass, and we're not sure how to gain access to the bulb. The headlight assembly has metal plates behind it, so we don't have

On this car there is a bulkhead behind the headlight assembly which prohibits normal access to the bulbs. You need to remove the assembly from the front to get at the bulbs.
